    Lima Siebel ESB
Integration of Siebel with external applications tends to be the most complex and effort intensive work in most Siebel implementations and upgrades. Based on a recent survey of clients we have discovered that clients have spent as much as 30% of the project effort on integration alone. Common issues seen in integrating Siebel with external applications fall in two categories: Either Clients use hard wired point to point interfaces which limit agility, flexibility and scalability while creating a maintenance over head OR Some clients resort to Siebel based Web Services only to discover that they need to write a lot of custom code in order to map Siebel Web Services to external ones. To integrate Siebel Web
Services with external Web Services seamlessly, there is need for a platform that could effortlessly map, route and manage the flow of messages. In order to do this without a lot of custom coding we need a flexible and robust infrastructure.

That infrastructure is Lima Siebel ESB.

Lima Siebel ESB is a messaging-based enterprise service bus that simplifies the integration and flexible re-use of business applications within a service-oriented architecture (SOA). Lima ESB eliminates the rigidity and fragility of point-to-point integration with a robust, event-driven architecture that can evolve, scale and extend throughout the enterprise. Customers use Lima ESB to reduce time to market and costs by avoiding significant effort in custom coding that is involved in mapping internal WSDL to External WSDL, transforming messages formats from Siebel Message Schema to External Schema.

    Features and Functionality

    Siebel Specific ESB

Lima ESB is specifically tailored to Siebel CRM applications, which facilitates effortless translation/routing of messages by mapping Siebel WSDL’s to External WSDL with little or no coding. This means ability to deploy new interfaces faster and efficiently at much lower cost.

Out of the Box Integration Capabilities

Lima ESB comes with a rich set of Out of the Box adapters and integration frameworks which could be used as a starting point to integrate with Siebel.

    Flexibility

Configurable XPATH subject- and content-based routing of messages to services. Allows users to flexibly define and modify routing rules without coding.

    Easy XML Transformation

Mediates incompatibilities of XML message format and granularity among services using distributed XSLT transformation services, essentially easing the conversion of Siebel Messages to external System Messages and vice-versa. Provides facilities to merge data from various services, as well as to split data and route it to various destinations through standards-based XSLT and XPath.

    UI Based WSDL Mapping

Maps Operations in Siebel WSDL to operations in External WSDL, using a UI based WSDL mapping tool, there by fixing the gaps in the Siebel WSDL. This also facilitates enforcing a universal WSDL format.

    Error Handling and Logging

Provides a full end to end error handling and logging mechanism, ability to graphically create logging points: before transformation, after transformation, point of entry into ESB, point of exit etc. The logs are written to a embedded database for further mining and reporting. Also provides ability to conditionally log messages.

    Graphical Management tool

Lima ESB also comes with fully functional graphical tool which helps to create logging points, track the flow of messages, generate reports, identify transaction times. It also provides the ability to create alerts which would let you sent messages to the Admin as notifications.

    Low TCO

Lima ESB runtime only requires a standard JVM and so it can run wherever a standard JVM can run. This facilitates easy deployment on any platform. Lima ESB has a very small memory footprint (30-40 MB), which would let it run on existing infrastructure.

Lima ESB is available free to customers when the entire implementation/upgrade project is awarded to Lima. License fee and professional service fee applies when sold separately.
